Skills Development
Bargach Foundation commenced community based Skills Development Training and Placement Program in partnership with corporates like Pantaloons, Bajaj FinServ, Godrej Industries etc. to mention a few.
We have also commenced establishing free of cost Community IT Centers at our select branches in West Bengal. We are in the process of installing 20 personal computers across these branches. This will help unemployed individuals in all age groups to benefit by free access to computer and to develop their computer literacy skills and career growth. We would like to join with like minded organisations and extend such facilities to other states where we operate over a period of two years.

Inauguration of Skill Development and Computer Training Centre at Bansberia, Hooghly


Unemployment and proper lack of proper Computer literacy is the biggest issue in India currently. Unemployment often forces young people to be involved in illegal activities. The major reasons are structural and technological advancement. It arises from a mismatch between job opportunities available in the market and the skills possessed by the available workforce. Lack of required skills and inadequate education often hinder job prospects for many individuals in India. Technologically at par with the industry is also very much required.
Keeping all this in mind, The Hooghly Rural Police and Bargach Foundation have set up a Skill Development and a Computer Training Centre at Bansberia, Hooghly on 7th March,2024 for the unemployed youths in that area. This centre is named as “Utkarsh Bangla Kendra” where there a course had been started named “Microfinance Operation Associate (MOA) “ and " Basic Computer ". The MOA course would be of 390 hr. per candidate and the basic Computer for two months. After the completion of the course the candidates will have to give a written exam. After qualifying the examination, they will get certificates certified by the West Bengal Government and then they will get jobs in Bargach Finance and Vector Finance as per the rules of the Government project. The course had been trained by a certified trainer who had more than 12 years of experience in the field of Microfinance. There were 32 candidates who have successfully registered themselves in the first batch of the course which have already been started and another 40 candidates have registered themselves successfully in the second batch of the course and the batch will start within a few months in Skill development training. And there were almost more than 150 numbers of candidates who have successfully registered themselves for the computer training irrespective of their age groups .

The program first started with the welcoming of the various distinguished guests with small pots of plant as a token of love then followed by a lamp lighting ceremony. Then they had shared their valuable feedbacks and suggestions regarding the program and their expectations. Then comes the main inauguration program where Shri Kamanasish Sen, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Hooghly Rural Police and Shri Rahul Johri, Chairman, Bargach Finance Private Limited had inaugurated the centre with the Ribbon Cutting ceremony. After that the ID cards have been distributed among all the candidates the program had been wrapped up with distributing Snacks to all the candidates, staff and other people who were present in the program.
Basic Computer Skills Development Training

Today, technology is everywhere and the use of computers is deeply embedded into our day to day lives at work, school, and home. In this fast-paced and in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, computer skills have become an essential life skill., From navigating the internet to wielding powerful software applications, these abilities empower individuals to thrive in both academics and professional spheres. Keeping all this view in mind The Hooghly Rural Police and Bargach Foundation have set up a Skill Development and a Computer Training Centre at Bansberia, Hooghly on March 7,2024 for the unemployed youths in that area. Technologically at par with the industry is also very much required.That’s why Hooghly Rural Police and Bargach Foundation have started up a Skills development training cum placements program under accreditation of Utkarsh Bangla Project,Govt. of West Bengal.
We started our journey on 7th March,2024 at Chowraline Banshberia, Hooghly with 32 numbers of financially under privileged and unemployed youth. This centre is named as “Utkarsh Bangla Kendra” where there a course had been started named “Microfinance Operation Associate (MOA) “ and Basic Computer. The MOA course would be of 390 hrs. per candidate and the basic Computer for two months. After the completion of the MOA course the candidates will have to give a written exam. After qualifying the examination, they will get certificates certified by the West Bengal Government.Out of 32 candidates 26 have got placements in Muthoot Finance, Arohan Micro Finance,Vector Finance and Bargach Finance within the salary bracket of INR 15000 to INR17000.In second batch another 35 candidates have registered themselves successfully and the batch will start by 10th August’24.

Under the joint initiative of Bargach Foundation and Hooghly Rural Police, on 28th September'24,successfuly passed out candidates have received their certificates in Utkarsh Bangla Project. On that day, our distinguished guests were Shri. Kalyan Sarkar, WBPS, Addl. SP, Shri Abhijit Singha Mahapatra, WBPS, DSP (Crime), Hooghly Rural Police and other dignitaries.

In collaboration with the Bargach Foundation, the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate held a job drive program at the Lake Town police station. Participating employers include Quess Corp, TATWA BPO, Bisk Farm, and S&IB.

Bargach Foundation have organised a Job Drive for the unemployed and underprivileged youths with the support of Ward no 48,Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Shiv Chowk Club. Tatwa Technologies, Quess Corp and S&IB participated in the event as recruiters or employers. Save the Children and Hope Kolkata Foundation had also send their trained candidates.

With a population of 1.4 billion people, India is not just the 2nd populous country in the world but also holds the reserves of vast human resources. Skill development trainings can play a crucial role in this regard by train the youth early and train them right. Keeping this in mind, on 6th March,2025, our third batch has been started. Bargach Foundation has tied up with Govt. of West Bengal under Utkarsh Bangla program and Hooghly Rural Police to provide basic computer training, soft skills and grooming and trade specific skills training. A Skills training center in collaboration with Hooghly Rural Police has been set up at Bansberia in Hooghly. The center aims at training the unemployed youth of Bansberia, Hooghly, in “Microfinance Operation Associate”, “Basic Computer” and “job readiness modules”.

With the view of digitally empowering the rural community Bargach Foundation has introduced Community IT Centers in 20 locations spanning across 13 districts in association with and support of Jana Small Finance Bank. On 27th December Two more Community IT centers were inaugurated at Panskura and Belda branch, and then later into 8 Branches – Bhatar, Bhagwangola, Aurangabad, Raghunathganj, Gazole, Mathabhanga, Bidhannagar and Alipurduar taking the total number of operative Community IT centers to 30. We have covered 10535 rural marginalized students in West Bengal, in respect to digital access and learning. As per SP Sir’s advice Civic Volunteers of East Bardhhaman Various Police Stations (Saktigar,Kalna,Katwa,Purbasthali and Bhatar ) also comes to the training centers to get access to free learning and also access to digital computer learning. Approximately 20 civic volunteers have been trained and got benefitted from these Community IT Centres at 5 different branches.

Goals And Targets
Bargach Foundation plans to create basic trainings at the village level which will work as an alternate source of income for the families.The goal of the programme is to create basic skill training of the beneficiaries which will substantiate their family income.With better health, individuals shall have the potential to be more productive. The Foundation will partner will the government bodies, NGOs, corporates etc that individuals are trained on skills that have a ready demand. Learning will include classroom sessions and on-the-job learning. The skill development programs have benefitted both men and women from the community. Our aim is to raise the skill level of 10000 individuals from the weaker section by end 2023.
